NHL All-Star Skill Competitions


The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.

Team World won the puck control relay with a team of Ilya Kovalchuk, Marian Gaborik and Evgeny Malkin.

Nicklas Bäckström of Team World won the fastest skater competition, beating Jeff Carter in the final.

Drew Doughty of Team North America won the hardest shot competition with a result of 86 MPH, beating Ilya Kovalchuk in the final.

Rick Nash of Team North America won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Marian Gaborik in the final.

Martin Brodeur of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Evgeny Nabokov in the final.

Team World won the breakaway relay with a team of Ilya Kovalchuk, Alexander Ovechkin and Marian Gaborik.
